Born in 1969 in Paris, passionate about drawing, colors and materials since childhood, I grew up with a notebook in my hand, filled with sketches. After studying graphics/illustration at European Graphic Design, I worked as a layout designer at Éditions Gallimard and as a freelancer for several years.
In 2009, I chose to follow professional training in “Martenot” pedagogy in order to pass on my passion. Today I teach in my studio in Boulogne-Billancourt while pursuing my first passion, painting. Painting is a very special job: the work of a traveler, of an archaeologist where you have to delve deep within yourself while drawing inspiration from what surrounds you.
Painting structures me.
Always sensitive to colored harmonies, material, light, oil painting represents for me the best way to express my sensitivity. Starting from reality and through the search for lines, rhythms and colors, I seek to express the mood and atmosphere of a place. I try to extract the essential lines. Going beyond, by deconstructing the shapes with flat areas placed instinctively, I show a second, more abstract vision.
The random gesture guides my search. My inspirations come from my travels, my Parisian or seaside walks, my meetings. Escaping from the hustle and bustle of the city and regularly isolating myself to find the calm and power of nature helps me nourish my work. Finding the sound and force of the sea gives me energy for my painting.
My painting draws on several inspirations: Cézanne, Matisse, Turner, Rothko, de Staël, Viera da Silva, Geneviève Asse, Giacometti, Joseph Sudek and Lucien Clergue.
