Born in 1977 in Lorraine, Julie Botton now lives and works near Lyon. Her works are inspired by her travels, especially to Japan, and feature vibrant landscapes and animals. She won the Contemporary Art Prize from the Société Lyonnaise des Beaux-Arts in 2007.
